LAS VEGAS, NV (April 10, 2023) – Police identified 55-year-old Angel Perez Rodriguez as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on West Sunset Road on April 2.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Annie Oakley Drive around 5:28 AM. Based on a report, a white 2017 Ford pickup truck was driving eastbound on Sunset Road at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it left the roadway and drove up onto the sidewalk. Then, the truck hit a bus stop enclosure and Rodriguez before it fled the scene.
 
As a result, Rodriguez suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police later found the truck and arrested its driver, 48-year-old Devon Cordova for charges of failure to maintain his lane, failure to render aid after a crash, failure to stop at a scene of a crash involving injury or death, reckless driving resulting in property damage, and reckless driving resulting in death.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case. In addition, no other details are available.
