Angel Cortes Identified in Pomona Car Crash

 
POMONA, CA (April 18, 2023) – The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner identified 26-year-old Angel Cortes of Long Beach as the victim who died in a crash on Garey Avenue on April 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the off-ramp of westbound 60 Freeway. Based on a report, two vehicles crashed in the lanes.
 
As officers arrived at the scene, they found Cortes and the other driver trapped inside their cars. Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters freed both victims from the wreckage.
 
As a result, officers said Cortes died in the incident.
 
The second driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
