Phillip McShan Arrested in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 80 Freeway [Davis, CA]

Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Suspected DUI Driver Phillip McShan in Davis

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (April 18, 2023) – Officers arrested Phillip Duane McShan of Fairfield after a fatal pedestrian accident on 80 Freeway on April 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of the Pole Line Road overcrossing around 12:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking in the lanes of the freeway at the time of the crash. At the same time, McShan was driving a black Polestar heading westbound. Due to unknown reasons, McShan struck the victim.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
CHP believed alcohol was a factor in the crash and officers arrested McShan.
