Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver Andrew Barnette in Port Neches

 
PORT NECHES, TX (April 29, 2024) – The Port Neches Police Department arrested 34-year-old Andrew Barnette after a hit-and-run in the 2400 block of Earle Street on April 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened shortly before 9:00 PM. Based on a report, Barnette was driving a white, four-door truck east on Earle when it suddenly whipped across the westbound lane.
 
Subsequently. he careened off the road and barreled through several front yards before hitting a pedestrian. Barnette then left the scene.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered fractures in his left femur and left lower leg, had multiple jaw fractures, and had several teeth knocked out. Officers found and transported the barely conscious victim to the hospital for treatment.
 
Officers were able to identify and arrest Barnette for the felony charge of collision involving personal injury or death. They transported him to Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
