Amy Smith Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (March 11, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 47-year-old Amy Frances Smith who died in a hit-and-run accident on Thunderbird Road on March 2.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 23rd Avenue around 10:00 PM. Based on a witness’ account, the victim was crossing the street to the bus stop at the time of the incident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a car came racing and hit her. Detectives said the vehicle continued to head west and left the area.
 
As a result, emergency crews declared the victim dead at the scene.
 
Police have not released any information regarding a suspect or vehicle description.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
