Tow Truck Runs Red Light and Hits Car in Fresno, Driver Amaya Chenot Killed

 
FRESNO, CA (April 20, 2023) – Police identified 22-year-old Amaya Chenot of Fresno as the victim who died in a tow truck accident on Friant Road on April 12.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Shepherd Avenue shortly before 1:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was making a left turn on Fiat at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a tow truck that was heading north on Friant ran a red light and crashed into her car.
 
As a result, the impact pinned Chenot inside the car. Subsequently, emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
The tow truck driver did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
