Amanda Trujillo Identified in Fatal Colorado Springs Crash

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (August 7, 2023) – Officers identified 28-year-old Amanda Trujillo who died in a crash on Fountain Boulevard on July 29.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened at Jet Wing Drive. Based on a report, Trujillo was driving her car south on Jet Wing Drive prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 19-year-old Luke Johnson was speeding and driving with his headlights off on westbound Fountain Boulevard. Due to unknown reasons, Johnson ran a red light and struck Trujillo’s car.
 
As a result, Trujillo sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police arrested and booked Johnson into the county jail on vehicular homicide and DUI charges.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
