Head-On Crash on State Route 29 Leaves Amanda Peters Dead

NAPA, CA (August 9, 2022) — 21-year-old Amanda Peters of Sonoma died after a head-on collision on State Route 29 Saturday night, July 23.

According to the Napa California Highway Patrol Officer Jared Paulson, the fatal incident happened at around 10:10 p.m. and involved a Cadillac, Toyota, and Tesla.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Peters was a passenger of the Cadillac, driven by 20-year-old Susan Jevarian of San Francisco. Jevarian drove the wrong-way in the northbound lane of State Route 29 south of Napa when the Cadillac collided into the Toyota head-on.

The force of the impact caused the rear of the Cadillac to rotate in a clockwise motion as it headed into a collision course with the Tesla.

Peters received the brunt of damage as both the Toyota and Tesla struck the passenger side of the Cadillac. Medical personnel rushed her to the Queen of the Valley Hospital. However, she later died due to severe injuries.

Jevarian, who was reported wearing a seat belt during the incident, survived the crash with moderate injuries after being ejected from the Cadillac. She was airlifted to the Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville.

The Napa CHP officer said that the influence of alcohol may have played a part in the chain-of-reaction collision. This prompted authorities to arrest Jevarian, who might also face other charges.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota received medical treatment at the Queen of the Valley Hospital.  The rest of the affected passengers sustained minor injuries in the aftermath.

Our condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Amanda Peters.
