Alfredo Dominguez Struck and Killed by Suspected DUI Driver Cody Lesher in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (June 23, 2023) – El Paso Police identified 35-year-old Alfredo Dominguez who died in a pedestrian accident in the 4500 block of Emory Road on June 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Sunset Road shortly before 8:00 PM. Based on a report, Dominguez was walking with his dog near the intersection prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 32-year-old Cody Reid Lesher of Carlsbad, New Mexico, was driving a 2015 Maserati at a high rate of speed south on Emory. Subsequently, Lesher lost control and crashed into a wooden post and a gas meter. His car proceeded to roll and hit Dominguez and his dog.
 
As a result, Dominguez suffered grave injuries in the incident. Crews transported him to a local hospital, where he died. His dog also died in the crash.
 
Lesher’s car continued skidding and struck a traffic sign and a fence. He and his passenger fled the scene on foot but officers were able to locate and detain them.
 
Police charged Lesher with intoxication manslaughter and accident involving personal injury or death.
