Motorcyclist Rick Marino Identified in Fatal Sideswipe Accident in Tempe

 
TEMPE, AZ (June 23, 2023) – Officers identified 63-year-old Rick Marino who died in a motorcycle accident on 10 Freeway on June 19.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Baseline Road around 2:50 AM. Based on a report, the victim was traveling on the eastbound side of the freeway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he sideswiped a pickup truck, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle.
 
As a result, Marino suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Police said he was wearing both a helmet and protective gear at that time of the accident.
 
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.
