Alec Carbine Dead after Phoenix Rideshare Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (September 18, 2023) — A passenger in a rideshare vehicle, 28-year-old Alec Carbine, died in a car crash on Saturday, September 9.
According to the Phoenix police, the two-vehicle collision happened at around 2:00 a.m. near Tatum Boulevard and Shea Boulevard.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found Carbine with critical injuries. Paramedics transported him to a hospital where he later died.
The driver of the rideshare vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Investigators said a woman driving a second vehicle ran a red light. As a result, it collided with the rideshare vehicle. The woman was not hurt. However, three other people with her inside the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Sgt. Brian Bower, they evaluated the woman for impairment, but no signs were reported.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
