Ajiona Valdez, Katie Lewis Killed in Accident on Highway 84 [Garza County, TX]

Ajiona Imani Valdez, Katie Lewis Identified in Fatal Garza County Accident

 
GARZA COUNTY, TX (December 15, 2022) – Officials identified 20-year-old Ajiona Imani Valdez of Fort Hood and 40-year-old Katie Marie Lewis of Las Vegas as the victims who died in an accident on Highway 84 on December 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened two miles south of Post around 2:25 AM.
 
Based on a report, Valdez was driving a car on the highway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, she failed to negotiate a curve and drove through the grassy median.
 
Subsequently, her car struck a concrete drainage ditch.
 
As a result, she and Lewis, her passenger, died at the scene. They were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
 
As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
