Aisha Wells Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on New York Avenue in Arlington

 
ARLINGTON, TX (September 20, 2022) – Police identified Aisha Wells as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in the 2200 block of New York Avenue.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 11:48 PM on September 17.
 
Based on a report, a 42-year-old female pedestrian was attempting to cross New York Avenue at the time of the crash. Police said the victim was not using a designated crosswalk. Due to unknown circumstances, a Ford Expedition traveling southbound struck her.
 
As a result, the victim was transported in critical condition. She later on died at the hospital.
 
The driver of the Expedition remained on scene after the accident and cooperated with investigators. She is not facing any criminal charges in connection to this incident. However, an investigation is underway.
