Fatal Head-On Car Crash on Highway 101 in Sequim
SEQUIM, WA (July 16, 2023) – Officers confirmed that a 9-year-old child died in a head-on car crash on Highway 101 on July 5.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Old Gardiner Road around 8:00 PM. Based on a report, two vehicles were traveling on opposite directions prior to the crash.
Subsequently, one of the drivers crossed the center line and crashed head-on with the other vehicle.
As a result, the driver and a juvenile passenger in the vehicle that crossed the line died in the incident. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
Crews transported the driver of the other vehicle to the hospital for his injuries. However, there has not been an update on the driver’s condition.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
