Arvil Crase Fatally Injured after Car Crash on Highway 706

 
ASHFORD, WA (October 23, 2024) — An 86-year-old Tumwater man, Arvil Crase, died in a two-vehicle accident on Friday, October 11.
 
According to Washington State Patrol spokesperson John Dattilo, the accident occurred on Highway 706 at 226th Avenue at around 10:45 a.m.
 
WSP said Crase was in a vehicle that traveled west at 226th Avenue and was turning left into a private driveway. Then another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction moved off the road and struck Crase’s vehicle, resulting in his death.
 
Crase’s driver, an 86-year-old Tumwater woman, sustained injuries in the collision. Emergency responders arrived and transported her to Tacoma General Hospital.
 
The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries. Authorities identified him as a 79-year-old man from Spanaway.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
