PHOENIX, AZ (December 11, 2024) — An 82-year-old woman, identified as Vera Sihirlic died in a pedestrian accident on Sunday, December 1.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident occurred near 3rd Street and Bell Road at about 7:45 p.m.
 
Officials said Sihirlic tried to cross Bell Road in the crosswalk. However, the lights cycled through as she crossed, and a vehicle hit her with a green light.
 
Officers responded and discovered Sihirlic in the roadway with critical injuries. She died from her injuries on the scene.
 
Police said the man driving the vehicle remained at the scene and did not display any signs of intoxication.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
