PHOENIX, AZ (April 10, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 82-year-old Tomas Gonzalez as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on 43rd Avenue on April 3.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Thomas Road.
 
Based on a report, Gonzalez was crossing Thomas at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a black passenger vehicle heading eastbound struck him and left the scene.
 
As a result, Gonzalez suffered serious injuries in the incident. Officers responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
As of now, officers continue to investigate the crash. They also ask anyone with information to call the them or Silent Witness.
