SUN CITY, AZ (August 4, 2023) – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an 82-year-old man died in a golf cart accident on 103rd Avenue on July 29.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Grand Avenue around 10:39 PM. Based on a report, the man was driving the golf cart when he made an abrupt turn and collided head-on with an SUV.
 
Police believed the man had a medical event prior to the crash.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Officers said the driver of the SUV was not impaired following an evaluation.
