Charlies Jones Jr. Killed after Hit-and-Run Accident on 30 Freeway

 
FORT WORTH, TX (February 26, 2024) — Authorities identified 82-year-old Charlies Jones Jr. as the man killed in a hit-and-run crash on Friday, February 2.
 
According to Fort Worth police, the fatal crash occurred in the 1700 block on 30 Freeway at around 2:35 p.m.
 
Fort Worth Police said Jones Jr. drove his gold two-door 2007 Chevrolet car eastbound on the 30 Freeway. Then an unidentified 18-wheeler moved into his lane and struck the left side of his vehicle.
 
The impact of the crash caused Jones’ vehicle to spin in the road before hitting a guardrail. Paramedics rushed Jones to a local hospital. He died from sustained injuries two days later.
 
Loved ones held a funeral and laid Jones to rest on Saturday, February 17.
 
Police continue to look for the big rig driver involved in the hit-and-run. They urge anyone who witnessed or has information can contact Detective Carter at 817-392-4885.
