Orianna Diosdado Dead in Garbage Truck Pedestrian Accident on 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive

 
PHOENIX, AZ (February 26, 2024) — A woman, 21-year-old Orianna Nicole Diosdado, died after the city of Phoenix garbage truck struck her on Thursday, February 15.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident took place near 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive at around 3:30 p.m.
 
When officers arrived, they discovered Diosdado with serious injuries. She died at the scene.
 
Detectives said the garbage truck traveled north on 19th Avenue. As it made a right turn on Union Hills Drive, it struck Diosdado who was walking in the marked crosswalk at the intersection.
 
Authorities do not suspect impairment as a factor in the incident.
 
An investigation of the fatal crash is underway.
