Martha Saldivar Dead after Car Crash in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (January 10, 2025) — An 81-year-old woman identified as Martha Saldivar died in a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday, January 1.
 
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Mark Road and South Valencia Road.
 
The PCSD said the initial investigation determined Saldivar traveled west on Valencia Road. Then she went into oncoming traffic and struck the other vehicle at the Mark Road intersection.
 
Deputies arrived and found Saldivar bleeding while inside her vehicle. She said she was fine and did not require medical attention. However, deputies recommended her to be evaluated, and she agreed.
 
Meanwhile, emergency responders brought the two occupants from the other vehicle to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Later that evening, the Office of the Medical Examiner notified that Saldivar died due to her injuries during surgery.
