Edy Hernandez-Roldan Killed, Driver Arrested in DUI Crash in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 30, 2025) — A 48-year-old man, Edy Octavio Hernandez-Roldan, died in a DUI accident on Sunday, January 19.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the northbound 11 Freeway ramp leading to the westbound 215 Beltway.
 
Authorities determined that a white 2008 Gillig Transit bus was disabled and stopped in the far-left travel lane. At the same time, Hernandez-Roldan drove a gray 2008 Honda Pilot westbound. Then he crashed into the rear of the bus.
 
The impact caused the Honda to rotate. After that, it hit the east concrete barrier before stopping in the right lane. Meanwhile, the force of the collision also pushed the bus forward, but remained upright.
 
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Hernandez-Roldan dead at the scene.
 
Officials later arrested the bus driver on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of a stolen vehicle.
 
The Nevada State Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
 
The incident marks the sixth traffic-related fatality investigated by the unit in Southern Nevada this 2025.
