HIDALGO COUNTY, TX (January 10, 2024) – Authorities charged Lizbeth Samantha De La Cruz following a pedestrian accident on South Abrams Road on January 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the 700 block of the road. Based on a report, De La Cruz was driving a vehicle in the area that was not lit.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she hit a child about four to five years old.
 
The victim is now in stable condition.
 
Authorities charged De La Cruz with driving while intoxicated with a child and possession of an illegal substance.
