Isabella Cross Killed, Robert Cross Hospitalized in Solo-Car Accident on Highway 21
CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (March 12, 2024) — An 80-year-old woman identified as Isabella Cross, of Universal City, died in a solo-vehicle crash on Saturday, March 2.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place on State Highway 21 four miles east of Alto at 3:11 p.m.
Texas DPS said 81-year-old Robert Cross, of Universal City, traveled east on Highway 21 and failed to drive in a single lane. He left the highway to the south. Then he overcorrected back to the left.
It caused the vehicle to move into the north ditch. After that, the vehicle struck a tree on the passenger side.
Authorities pronounced his passenger, Isabella, dead at the scene of the wreck.
Paramedics transported Robert to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
