Young Bicyclist Caleb Ramirez Hit, Killed in Pharr Accident

 
PHARR, TX (May 8, 2024) – The Pharr Police Department confirmed that 8-year-old Caleb Ramirez died in a bicycle accident in the 700 block of East Eller Street on April 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 7:30 PM. Based on a report, the child was riding a bicycle on eastbound Eller Street at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, a male driver was backing out of an apartment complex. When the driver proceeded to travel forward in a truck on eastbound Eller Street, he hit the boy.
 
As a result, Ramirez suffered grave injuries and died in the accident.
 
Police say they are declining interviews because it is still a pending investigation, despite them releasing inaccurate information in the first place.
