Judy Coluccio Identified in Fatal Grant County Crash on Highway 26

 
GRANT COUNTY, WA (December 7, 2023) – Officials identified 79-year-old Judy Coluccio of Auburn who died in a crash on Highway 26 on December 1.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 243 at approximately 7:15 PM. Based on a report, Coluccio was driving westbound near the intersection before the crash.
 
At the same time, 40-year-old Jose Avitta-Sillas of Pasco was driving a semi-truck eastbound. Due to unknown reasons, Coluccio crossed the center line and was hit by the semi-truck.
 
As a result, she suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Avitta-Sillas was not hurt.
 
Officers said distracted driving or a medical issue on Coluccio’s part could be a cause of the crash. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
