Melinda Epperson Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Chandler

 
CHANDLER, AZ (December 5, 2023) – The Chandler Police Department identified 73-year-old Melinda Epperson who died in a pedestrian accident on Ocotillo Road on November 27.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Chandler Paseo Trail shortly after 7:00 AM. Based on a report, Epperson was walking in a crosswalk during the crash.
 
At that point, 26-year-old Keith Taylor was driving a BMW sedan eastbound on Ocotillo Road. Due to unknown reasons, he hit the victim and fled the scene.
 
As a result, Epperson sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Moments later, Taylor got into another crash after running a red light at McQueen Road. He again fled the scene of that crash.
 
Officers were able to track and arrest Taylor on several charges including manslaughter.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
