Fermin Rodriguez Killed in Rollover Crash on FM 1593 [Jackson County, TX]

73-Year-Old Fermin Rodriguez Identified in Fatal Crash on FM 1593

 
JACKSON COUNTY, TX (February 24, 2023) – Officers identified 73-year-old Fermin Rodriguez as the victim who died in a rollover crash on FM 1593 on February 22.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened outside of Lolita around 6:55 AM. Based on a report, Rodriguez was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra north on the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 19-year-old Brendan Tompkins of Lolita was driving a Lexus southbound. As Tompkins made a left turn, he collided with the pickup of Rodriguez. Then, the pickup continued into a ditch and rolled over once before ejecting Rodriguez from the vehicle. The Lexus came to a rest on the roadway.
 
As a result, Rodriguez died at the scene due to severe injuries.
 
There was no word on Tompkins’s condition.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
