Jose Hernandez and Marvin Padilla Identified in Los Angeles Train Crash

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 24, 2023) – The Los Angeles Fire Department identified 46-year-old Marvin Padilla and 40-year-old Jose Hernandez as the victims in a fatal crash on 24th Street on February 20.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Long Beach Avenue around 6:15 PM. Based on a report, the victims were in a vehicle traveling southbound on 24th Street prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Metro Blue Line train was traveling in the same direction. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle suddenly made a left turn in front of the train, causing a crash.
 
As a result, Padilla and Hernandez suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Firefighters said that the three other occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries. No passengers onboard the train were seriously hurt.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
