Heriberto Solis Dies in Cameron County Car Crash on Highway 48

 
CAMERON COUNTY, TX (October 26, 2022) – Police identified 71-year-old Heriberto Solis as the victim who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 48 on October 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 10:15 PM.
 
Based on a report, Solis put a 2003 Ford Ranger on a stationary mode, facing south in the eastbound side of the highway and without its lights on. Subsequently, a 2005 GMC Sierra traveling eastbound on the outside lanes of the highway collided with the Ford.
 
The impact caused the Ford Ranger to move onto the westbound lanes, where it collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu.
 
As a result, the impact ejected Solis off the Ford. Paramedics transported him to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, where he died from his injuries.
 
As of now, the fatal crash remains under investigation.
