71-Year-Old Donna Haney Killed in Crash on Highway 104 [Hood Canal, WA]

Donna Haney Identified in Fatal Two-Vehicle on Highway 104 in Hood Canal

 
HOOD CANAL, WA (February 26, 2024) – Officials identified 71-year-old Donna M. Haney of Everett who died in a crash on Highway 104 on February 15.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened just west of the Hood Canal bridge shortly before 9:54 AM. Based on a report, Haney was driving a 2016 Subaru Outback on the west side of the highway from the bridge.
 
At a stretch of the road where there are two lanes, she attempted to pass a trailer truck. Due to unknown reasons, she lost control of her vehicle and struck a truck. Her car then traveled into a ditch before coming to rest on the shoulder.
 
As a result, Haney suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old Olympia man, called 911.
 
Troopers said speed was a factor in the crash.
