3-Year-Old Struck by Vehicle in Spokane Valley Accident
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (December 19, 2022) – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a 3-year-old boy suffered serious injuries following an accident on Sprague Avenue on December 12.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Pines Road. Based on a report, the boy was unsecure inside his grandfather’s vehicle prior to the crash.
As the grandfather turned right onto Pines, the boy was able to open the door of the vehicle. Subsequently, he tumbled out into the roadway and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
As a result, the boy suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. A deputy rushed him to the nearby hospital for treatment.
According to investigators, it is unclear whether the grandfather had a car seat for his grandson.
At this time, SCSO is unable to confirm further details in the case, including the current status of the child. As of now, the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
