Michael Crank Identified in Fatal Lubbock Car Crash, Zachary Crank Injured
LUBBOCK, TX (April 17, 2023) – Officers identified 19-year-old Michael Crank as the victim who died in a rollover crash on 34th Street on April 9.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Research Boulevard shortly after 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, Michael was traveling in a pickup truck through the intersection onto a dirt road. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle lost control and rolled several times. The rollover ejected him and 18-year-old Zachary Crank.
As a result, Michael died at the scene of the crash.
Emergency crews took Zachary to UMC with serious injuries.
As of now, the crash is under investigation by the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit. In addition, no other details are available.
