19-Year-Old Jayri Ramirez-Garcia Suspected of DUI, Juan Villareal, Rosaura Castro, Fabiola Nunez and Juan Solano Injured in Crash on Highway 243 in Mattawa

 
MATTAWA, WA (March 31, 2023) – Officers arrested 19-year-old Jayri Ramirez-Garcia of Mattawa following a crash on Highway 243 on March 26.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 12:45 AM.
 
Based on a report, Ramirez-Garcia was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry northbound on the highway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and hit a southbound 2015 Kia Soul head-on.
 
As a result, all four people in the Kia were taken to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland with injuries. Officers identified them as 42-year-old Juan Barajas Villareal of Seattle, 40-year-old Rosaura Barajas Castro, 41-year-old Fabiola Nunez of Seattle and 45-year-old Juan Nunez Solano of Seattle.
 
Ramirez-Garcia and her 20-year-old passenger, Haley Felker of Desert Aire, were not hurt in the incident.
 
Troopers say alcohol or drugs were a factor. They arrested Ramirez-Garcia on vehicular assault charges.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
