Fatal Crash on West Colfax Avenue at North Speer Boulevard in Denver

 
DENVER, CO (March 25, 2024) – The Denver Police Department arrested a 19-year-old driver following a fatal car accident on West Colfax Avenue on March 16.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at North Speer Boulevard. Based on a report, the suspect was going west on Colfax Avenue when he ran a red light.
 
Subsequently, he crashed into the other vehicle going south on Speer Boulevard.
 
As a result, the suspect’s passenger, a 19-year-old man, suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The other driver did not report any injuries at the time of the crash.
 
Police arrested the suspect for investigation of vehicular homicide and DUI.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
