19-Year-Old Daniel Thurman and 18-Year-Old Riley Hernandez Killed after Red Light on Gateway Boulevard in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (June 25, 2023) – Officials identified 19-year-old Daniel Riley Thurman and 18-year-old Riley Hernandez who died in a T-bone crash on Gateway Boulevard on June 21.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at McCombs Street around 2:29 AM. Based on a report, Thurman was driving a 2010 Toyota Scion XB on Gateway North with Hernandez was riding as a passenger.
 
Due to unknown reasons, Thurman ran the red light and was T-boned by a 2016 Jeep Patriot of 31-year-old Laneisa Speller.
 
As a result, Thurman and Hernandez suffered grave injuries and died at the hospital.
 
Speller and her 8-year-old passenger suffered injuries in the incident.
 
The main contributing factor to this collision is running a red light officials said.
