Tess Collins, Tyler Hugon Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Glendale

 
GLENDALE, AZ (March 20, 2024) – The Glendale Police Department identified 18-year-old Tyler Hugon and 18-year-old Tess Collins who died in a hit-and-run on 51st Avenue on March 9.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Glendale Avenue around 7:20 PM. Based on a report, one vehicle ran the red light. Then, a second car sideswiped it and pile-up happened involving four more vehicles.
 
The person who caused the crash left the scene.
 
As a result, Hugon and Collins suffered grave injuries and died in the crash. They were inside the same car.
 
The driver of one of the six cars sustained minor injuries.
 
Officers found and identified the hit-and-run suspect as 20-year-old Dieudonne Ushindi. They took him into custody for unknown charges. Police added that speeding appears to be a factor in this crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
