Pedestrian Jesus Cesena Arrested in Tucson Accident on 12th Avenue

 
TUCSON, AZ (November 14, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department arrested 18-year-old Jesus Enrique Camacho Cesena after a hit-and-run accident on 12th Avenue on November 5.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Valencia Road. Based on a report, Cesena was driving a pickup truck when he hit an adult male pedestrian. A witness told police the truck was going 70 mph and the pedestrian was jaywalking.
 
Subsequently, Cesena fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered broken bones and cuts to the head.
 
Report showed someone called 911 and reported the truck stolen but Cesena’s mom later admitted to falsely reporting the vehicle stolen for him and that he was at her home. Cesena then admitted to driving and hitting the pedestrian.
 
Officers booked Cesena into the Pima County Jail and faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
