Edward Abendroth Jr. Identified in Fatal Accident in Glasscock County

 
GAINES COUNTY, TX (November 14, 2023) – Officials identified 28-year-old Edward Scott Abendroth Jr. of Midland who died in a semi-truck accident on Highway 158 on November 3.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about 10 miles west of Garden City shortly after 8:00 AM. Based on a report, Abendroth was driving a semi-truck eastbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to control his speed and struck a second semi-truck that was traveling ahead of him. Debris from the initial crash struck a third semi-truck heading westbound. That semi-truck which was hauling 120 cattle lost control, slid, and rolled.
 
As a result, Abendroth suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Troopers found 44 cattle in the third truck that died at the scene.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. However, no other details are available.
