Javier Rodriguez Dies in Fatal Wrong-Way Accident on Illinois Avenue in Dallas

 
DALLAS, TX (October 30, 2022) – Police identified 16-year-old Javier Rodriguez as the victim who died in a wrong-way accident on Illinois Avenue on October 25.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 11:55 PM.
 
Based on a report, Rodriguez – a student at Trinidad Garza Early College High School – was driving eastbound on the road at the time of the crash. At the same time, an SUV driven by 22-year-old Pedro Garcia-Cleto was in the westbound lanes.
 
Due to unknown reasons, Garcia-Cleto crossed over the center median and hit the vehicle of Rodriguez.
 
As a result, Rodriguez died in the incident.
 
Dallas police said Garcia-Cleto was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
