Mark Manzanares Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Laredo

 
LAREDO, TX (January 12, 2024) – The Laredo Police Department identified 15-year-old Mark Manzanares who died in a pedestrian accident on Cuatro Vientos Boulevard on January 3.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Aguanieve Drive around 7:55 PM. Based on a report, Manzanares and his 22-year-old brother were walking from their home in the Wright Ranch subdivision to a convenience store.
 
Due to unknown reasons, Manzanares was hit by a 2019 Dodge Charger. Police said the victim’s older brother saw the car coming and attempted to stop the victim but was unsuccessful.
 
As a result, Manzanares suffered grave injuries in the incident. Crews transported him to Laredo Medical Center, where he later died.
 
The driver of the Charger, 22-year-old Christopher Anthony Perales, remained at the scene and called 911. He also rendered aid and cooperated with the police. He volunteered to provide a blood sample at the hospital.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
