Teen Struck and Injured by Vehicle on 117th Avenue in Vancouver

 
VANCOUVER, WA (January 11, 2023) – Paramedics rushed a 14-year-old girl to the hospital following a pedestrian accident on 117th Avenue (Highway 503) on January 6.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened in an undesignated crosswalk near Prairie High School shortly after 2:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was crossing the street at the time of the crash. Troopers said the drivers in the southbound left lane stopped but a driver traveling in the right lane did not stop and struck the girl.
 
As a result, the girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Crews took her to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland in stable condition at the time.
 
The driver, a 22-year-old woman driving a 2009 Toyota Camry, stayed at the scene.
 
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash.
