12-Year-Old Yahir Flores Identified in Fatal High-Speed Crash on South Beltline Road in Grand Prairie

 
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (July 5, 2023) – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified 12-year-old Yahir Angel Flores who died in a crash on South Beltline Road on June 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near East Cober Drive at approximately 10:45 PM. Based on the report, 21-year-old Damien Torres was driving a silver Ford Mustang more than 90 miles per hour prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, Flores was a passenger in a Honda sedan that was turning left from Beltline onto East Cober. Subsequently, Torres struck the Honda sedan and fled away from the scene.
 
As a result, Flores sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The Mustang passenger and Honda driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Police arrested and booked Torres on $60,000 bond.
