Jamel Madison and Nine Others Injured in Fatal Beaumont Crash on 10 Freeway

 
BEAUMONT, TX (October 11, 2022) – Police confirmed the death of an 11-year-old child in a crash that injured Jamel Madison and nine others on 10 Freeway on October 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Smith Road around 5:45 AM.
 
Based on a report, Madison was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV west in the outside lane of the freeway prior to the crash. Subsequently, an unknown vehicle made an unsafe lane change and cut off the Chevrolet. To avoid the vehicle, the Chevrolet hit a concrete barrier which caused it to roll over.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced an 11-year-old kid dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the name of the victim, pending kin notification.
 
36-year-old Madison, 35-year-old Tracey Moseley, and eight children ages three through 16-years-old were hurt in the crash.
 
As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
