HENDERSON, NV (March 10, 2023) – Officers identified World War II veteran Dr. Herbert Muskin as the victim who was injured in a car crash on Sunset Road on March 1.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Stephanie Street. Based on a report, Muskin was in a stopped car with his wife on Sunset Road prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, a vehicle traveling at more than 80 mph rammed into their vehicle. The impact caused Muskins’ car to hit a pole on the opposite side of the intersection.
 
As a result, Muskin suffered a fractured neck vertebra.
 
Police said the occupants of the other vehicle, 32-year-old Lorraine Alvarado and 29-year-old Kassandra Alvarez ran from the vehicle and fired at an officer. Police later arrested the suspects on charges related to a robbery incident.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case.
