Melissa De Leon Killed in Car Crash on FM 2812 at Engelmen Gardens Road [Monte Alto, TX]

Melissa De Leon Identified in Fatal Monte Alto Crash

 
MONTE ALTO, TX (February 27, 2023) – Officials identified 48-year-old Melissa De Leon of Monte Alto as the victim who died in a crash on FM 2812 on February 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just west of Engelmen Gardens Road around 12:06 AM. Based on a report, De Leon was driving a 2020 Nissan Rouge eastbound on FM 2812 at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, a 1999 Freightliner Tractor Truck towing a utility trailer, was backing into a private drive off the road. Due to unknown reasons, the victim collided with the Freightliner.
 
As a result, De Leon suffered grave injuries and died from at the scene.
 
The driver of the Freightliner was not seriously hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
