19-Year-Old Fernando Balladarez Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run on Jackson Road [Pharr, TX]

Fernando Balladarez Detained in Fatal Pharr Pedestrian Accident

 
PHARR, TX (February 27, 2023) – Pharr Police officers arrested 19-year-old Fernando Balladarez of San Juan after a fatal hit-and-run on Jackson Road on February 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Ridge Road. Based on a report, Balladarez was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado truck near the intersection when he struck a male pedestrian.
 
Subsequently, he fled the scene, without giving aid to the victim. Then, police said another vehicle hit the victim and also fled.
 
As a result, the male victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
Police located and arrested Balladarez on a charge of an accident involving personal injury or death.
 
As of now, Pharr police continue to investigate the crash.
