One Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Eleventh Street at North Street [Lakeport, CA]

Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Eleventh Street in Lakeport

 
LAKEPORT, CA (February 23, 2023) – The Lakeport Police Department confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Eleventh Street on February 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at North Street around 7:00 PM. Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking westbound in the roadway on Eleventh Street at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a beige 2002 Chevy Tahoe struck the victim. A passing officer immediately requested emergency medical aid and blocked the westbound lane of Eleventh Street with a patrol vehicle.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries in the incident. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim died at the scene.
 
Police determined the Tahoe driver to not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
