Couple Injured in Accident Involving DUI Driver on Highway 281 in San Antonio

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 23, 2023) – Police confirmed that a couple who stopped to help a driver were hurt in an accident in the 15400 block of Highway 281 on February 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 2:23 AM. Based on a report, the victims were traveling in a Ford F-150 when they pulled behind a Ford Fusion on the highway to check on the driver.
 
As the 42-year-old woman stepped out of the truck, a southbound Honda struck their vehicle, propelling her forward.
 
As a result, the woman and her husband – who was driving their truck – suffered injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported them to an area hospital in stable condition.
 
San Antonio police evaluated the drivers of the Fusion and the Honda and found them to be intoxicated. Officers arrested both drivers for DUI.
 
As of now, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
