Phillip Carter Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 84 in Lubbock

 
LUBBOCK, TX (February 14, 2023) – Officers identified 69-year-old Phillip Marcus Carter as the victim who died in an accident on Highway 84 on February 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened shortly after 7:00 PM. Based on a report, Carter was driving an SUV from a private driveway onto the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to yield the right of way and collided with a vehicle. Subsequently, he got out of his SUV and a Jeep struck him.
 
As a result, Carter died in the incident.
 
The Jeep driver, 63-year-old Antonio Medrano of Slaton, suffered minor injuries.
 
As of now, no other details are available. In addition, the case remains under investigation.
